WHY NOW?
Now is the time to plan for Warrenville’s future. Our community is growing and attracting people of all ages and backgrounds. We are investing in natural resources and connections to our open spaces. This effort was launched to continue to build on our assets and ensure that we design vibrant, walkable places; invest in our small and local businesses; and provide new housing opportunities for all people, especially middle-income households. Together, we can build a dynamic historic core for tomorrow.
What is it?
The Warrenville by Design project will use zoning to ensure that our buildings and public spaces (streets, sidewalks, parking, plazas, and gathering places) are connected and result in a high-quality, dynamic environment. This process will result in ways to regulate development to ensure new buildings and sites enhance the small town, village-like feel and achieve the community’s vision for the future.
